Thursday

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Mine was pretty sweet! Some of my favorite gifts were: "Le Petit Prince" (thank you Santa ;),  a new ipod (actually for the whole family to share), and a kitty (from our pal Marine)! I absolutely love the kitty, she's a funny little thing who likes to hide a lot, which is why we named her Cache-Cache (literally meaning "hide-hide" and the name of the game "hide and seek" in French)! She really likes the computer for some reason and will only snuggle you if you are sitting by it! What a weirdo! I'm super excited to start reading "Le Petit Prince"! It'll be the second French book I've read, the first one being a book called "La Petite Fille de Monsieur Lihn", which I read for my French class here! It was. . . .interesting! Shocking, really! The whole book is about this old man who takes care of his grand-daughter! Through out the whole book people are like "ah what a pretty doll she is!" and your reading it thinking she's pretty LIKE a doll, but Noooo! In the end you find out she IS a doll and the old man is coo-coo pants! So yeah. . . it wasn't the worst book I've read but it was pretty disturbing and sad! Well anywho, I hope everyone has a Happy New Years!!! I have a feeling this year will be the best one yet! <3

Tuesday

I'm Late I'm Late!

I am certainly not an "on time" kind of person. That's actually too putting it lightly! If you tell me to be there at 6 o'clock sharp. . . expect me to show up at around 6:15 (optimistically).  So, being the American MORMON that I am, this isn't usually too much of a problem. Buses in America say they'll be there at about 5:40-ish. Not at 5:40 exact. Well. . .this in not so much the case in France! The French are incredibly timely. Everyone know when somethings happening and how to get there. Most are even able leave at absolutely the last minute and still stroll into where ever they need to be and take a seat literally two seconds before it starts.
I looked at my bus schedule to see what time in the morning I'd need to be there in the morning and it told me 7:13! I thought "huh. . .that's kind of weirdly specific"! But sure enough just as l look as my phone to see it says "7:13" the bus pulls up! It's right on time! Every. Single. Day.
Still being Miranda, I tend to be late for my Seminary class every Friday! But this last Friday I was surprised to look at the clock and see that we'd arrived early. So I stroll in and hang out in the foyer and wait for other people to walk in, but after a couple of minute I decide to go wait in the class room. I look in and everyone's already in there and they've started!!! I COME EARLY AND I'M STILL LATE!?
Maybe this is a good opportunity for me to learn not just French but how to be on time to things! Oh life experiences. . . how i love and hate you at the same time!

Thursday

It'sThanks Giving In America!

So today is the actually holiday of Thanksgiving back in America! Though we won't actually have be celebrating till Saturday, I though it'd be nice to make a list of things I'm really grateful for! Before I start I'd like to say that there are too many things to be thankful for for me to put it all into one list. So there are a lot of other people and things that I'm grateful for!

Singing in the Rennes!

Home:
So for those of you who may not have been aware, my family officially has a home here in France. It's in a teeni-weeni town called Gévezé, near Rennes! We live right next to a Carrefour (the Ralphs of France) and an adorable park (with pingpong table included)! So we're all pretty happy with where we are!

School:
For a long time,  for many different reasons, schools were really jumping up and down at the thought of having me as a student. So really for the first two months I did nothing but stay home and not speak or hear a word of french, which I why I still remain in my pathetic and totally non-fluent state of being. But that's okay, because now I do have a school! Saint Martin! Not only are the teachers not completely terrifying but I also have an American buddy to go with there! So School has been going pretty good! Woo Hoo!

So. . .What Happens Now?:
Well, this has been a really basic little summary of whats happened thus far but I plan to blog AND vlog often about being in France and life's funny little occurrences! I already have to much to tell the world about being here, and I sincerely hope I can get it all out on this blog soon, but for now this will have to do! Thank You, Everyone!
PARTY ON DUDES! ;D
